Meet Our Pastor

     Pastor Dave Swinton grew up in the Iowa towns of Millersburg, Mt. Ayr, Wapello, and Tipton.  He is a graduate of Simpson College in Indianola and Methodist-related Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary in Evanston, Illinois.   He served for two years as a US-2 Missionary in inner-city Philadelphia.  He has also served parishes in Littleton and Sterling in Colorado, and in Storm Lake, and Perry in Iowa.  He was appointed to serve Harlan First United Methodist Church in June, 2005.

     Pastor Dave enjoys gardening, reading, golf, playing guitar, watching sports, skiing, and listening to traditional jazz - though not all at the same time.  He and his wife, Shari Stucker, have two children, Zoe and Max.
